The Tax Appeals Tribunal has set aside a Sh780 million tax bill against solar home systems financier Bboxx Capital Kenya, ruling that Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) failed to prove how it arrived at the disputed tax assessment. Tax collections from workers’ earnings have surpassed the National Treasury’s target for the first time since the 2021/22 financial year, ending three consecutive years of underperformance. Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) receipts rose 7.01 percent to Sh599.8 billion in the year ended June 2026, the Treasury says in a fresh report, exceeding the government’s Sh592.1 billion target by Sh7.7 billion. KCB Group has increased its interim dividend by 50 percent to Sh3 per share for the six months ended June 2026, following a rise in earnings. The lender will pay shareholders a total of Sh9.64 billion, up from the Sh2 per share paid in the same period last year.
