Chinese manufacturer HONOR (Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology) recently announced the “HONOR Robot Phone” in China on August 12, 2026. The smartphone has a movable 4DoF gimbal camera that pops up from the back.
It’s an ambitious model with a built-in gimbal camera, similar to the DJI Osmo Pocket on a smartphone. When not in use, the camera is stored in the main unit; when in use, a titanium alloy robot arm emerges. It has a 4-degree-of-freedom gimbal mechanism that allows for pan, tilt, roll, and level adjustments. You can also perform various actions, such as the YOYO robot mode, which responds to music and moves.
The camera configuration features a triple 200MP camera (main 1/1.28 23mm F1.6 4DoF gimbal) + 50MP (ultra-wide F2.0) + 200MP (telephoto optical 2.7x 1/1.4 F2.6 OIS) and uses cinematic colour science from German film equipment manufacturer ARRI, focusing on cinematic visual expression.
HONOUR Robot Phone features a 6.31-inch (2640×1216) display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SM8850-AC 4.6GHz octa-core CPU, 12GB/16GB RAM, and 512GB/1TB storage. The HONOUR Robot Phone is a high-spec Android smartphone with a 200-megapixel triple camera.
The battery is 7060mAh with 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. With a 120Hz refresh rate, the display is a high-resolution LTPO OLED. The phone runs on Android 16 (MagicOS). The phone is water and dustproof. The fingerprint sensor is in-screen. There is no earphone jack. The connection port is USB Type-C.
HONOR Robot Phone Release Date and Price
Available in two colours: silver and clay. It will be released in China in August 2026, priced at 9,999 CNY (about 192,000 Ksh) for the RAM12GB/512GB model and 12,999 CNY (about 250,000 Ksh) for the RAM16GB/1TB model.
