Have you ever been in a situation where you are in dire need of airtime for your Telkom line but far away from any shop or vendor that sells them? Maybe it is in the middle of the night and you are stranded? Well the good news is that there is a way out. You can buy Telkom airtime directly from your M-Pesa mobile account wallet via two methods that this article will show you.

Buying Telkom Airtime Via M-Pesa Using PesaPal

To buy your Telkom airtime via M-Pesa using PesaPal, simply:

    1. Go to your Safaricom SIM toolkit on your mobile device and choose the ‘M-Pesa’ option.
    2. Once there, select the ‘Lipa na M-Pesa’ option.
    3. Next, go to the Paybill section.
    4. Type in 220220 as the business number In the field labelled as Business number.
    5. Once done, type in your Telkom line number in the field labelled as the Account Number.
    6. Type in the Amount of Telkom airtime you would like to purchase.
    7. Type in your unique M-Pesa PIN.
    8. Next, confirm your Telkom airtime via M-Pesa by selecting ‘Send’.

Please make sure the temporary message that pops up in your mobile device during the transaction, reads ‘PesaPal’ as the Account Name before selecting ‘Accept’.

If all the details are accurate, proceed to select ‘Accept’, to complete your transaction.

After completing your transaction, you will get a message from M-PESA, confirming your transaction.

You will receive a message from PesaPal (CHAP CHAP), also confirming your Telkom airtime purchase.

If there is any delay with the delivery of the PesaPal message confirming your balance, you can check your Telkom line directly. On some occasions, the confirmatory message comes late and as such its absence does not automatically mean your airtime was been delivered.

Buying Telkom Airtime Via M-Pesa Using Paybill Number 777711

To buy your Telkom airtime via M-Pesa using the Paybill number 777711 (which is equally as efficient and quick), simply:

    1. Go to your Safaricom SIM toolkit on your mobile device and choose the ‘M-Pesa’ option.
    2. Once there, select the ‘Lipa na M-Pesa’ option.
    3. Next, go to the Paybill section.
    4. Type in 777711 as the business number In the field labelled as Business number.

As stated earlier, please make sure the temporary message that pops up in your mobile device during the transaction, reads ‘PesaPal’ as the Account Name before selecting ‘Accept’.

If all the details are accurate, proceed to select ‘Accept’, to complete your transaction.

An additional SMS from Telkom Kenya will show you your current airtime balance.
