    EABL net profit jumps 49pc to Sh18.2bn on strong sales, lower costs

    East African Breweries Limited (EABL) posted a 49 percent rise in net profit to Sh18.2 billion for the financial year ended June 30, 2026, driven by strong sales growth, effective cost management and lower financing costs.

    The brewer experienced a 13 percent increase in revenue, reaching Sh146 billion, fueled by a rise in beer and spirits sales throughout its markets. Additionally, total debt decreased by Sh6.2 billion, enhancing its balance sheet.

    “We delivered one of our strongest performances in recent years, achieving net revenue growth of 13% to Kshs.146 billion,” said Group Managing Director and CEO Jane Karuku.

    “Profit After Tax skyrocketed by 49% to Kshs. 18.2 billion, fueled by impressive volume growth, savvy cost management, and lower financing costs. Furthermore, total debt saw a reduction of Kshs.6.2 billion, further strengthening our balance sheet.

    In light of the impressive performance, the Board has put forward a recommendation for a final dividend of Sh8.70 per share. This brings the total dividend for the year to Sh12.70 per share, marking a remarkable 59 percent increase compared to the previous financial year. EABL’s share price also rose 43 percent to close at Sh269 as of June 30, 2026.
