    How To Get A Special Pass in Kenya For Foreigners

    This article will show you how to get a Special Pass in Kenya in addition to the requirements that you will need.

    A Special Pass, is a document that is issued to foreign nationals who are in the country (Kenya) temporarily whether on work or business, volunteer activities or even consultations for a short duration which usually does not exceed three (3) months.

    Please keep in mind that a Special Pass is not renewable, neither is it transferable. You will be required to pay 15,000 Kenyan Shillings per month, as the Special Pass fee.

    Requirements For Special Pass Application

    For your Special Pass application, please make sure that you have:

        1. A duly filled (completed) and signed Form 32 online form, which is the Special Pass form. Ensure that you print out the form at the end of your online application session.
        2. Two (2) recent coloured passport sized coloured photographs of you.
        3. Your Curriculum Vitae (CV) as the applicant.
        4. Your current Immigration status if you are already in Kenya.
        5. Copies of certified academic and professional certificates of you the applicant.
        6. A signed and detailed cover letter from you the applicant, addressed to the Director of Immigration Services.
        7. Copy of any previous permit(s) and or pass(es) that you may have had.
        8. Your valid national passport. While it can be a copy, ensure that you have the original with you as well.
        9. Clearance from all the regulatory bodies like the NGO council, the medical and dentist board, and the Ministry of Information.
        10. A copy of your Registration certificate of company or Organization.
        11. The payment receipt for your Special Pass processing fee.

    How To Apply For A Special Pass In Kenya

    To apply for your Special Pass in Kenya, simply:

      1. Create a login account within the Government of Kenya’s Single Sign-On – https://accounts.ecitizen.go.ke/login
      2. Next, log into your newly created account. It will grant you access to the eFNS (Electronic Foreign National Service) portal.
      3. As soon as you have logged into the eFNS (Electronic Foreign National Service) portal, select the ‘Apply Now’ option to begin your application process for the Special Pass.
      4. Once done, pay your Special Pass fee which as stated earlier, is 15,000 Kenyan Shillings per month. You will be required to pay for the fees within 30 days of receipt of the letter of approval.

    Once you have obtained your payment acknowledgement receipt, proceed to submit your evidence of payment. Doing so will grant you a notice of pass collection.

    You can get your Special Pass at Nyayo House ground floor at the Department of Immigration: Foreign nationals management section, Collection Office; Room 16.
