Tax Compliance Certificates are typically issued by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) upon application and are usually valid for a period of 12 months.
The application process is carried out by using the iTax platform and lodged 7 days before the expiry of an existing TCC.

For your Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax Compliance Certificate application, please make sure that you have:
- Proof of your Tax Payment on or before the due date.
- Cleared all of your outstanding tax debt.
- Filed your tax returns on or before the due date for all your applicable tax obligations.
How To Apply For A Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax Compliance Certificate
To apply for a Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax Compliance Certificate, simply:
- Go to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) iTax portal. You can do so via this link: https://itax.kra.go.ke/KRA-Portal/
- Once there, type in your PIN and unique Password.
- Next, complete the security question that you are presented with.
- Once done, go to the menu and select the ‘Certificates’ option.
- Once done, choose the ‘Tax Compliance Certificate’ option. You will immediately be redirected to another page.
- Once there, proceed to fill in the dialogue box with an explanation as to why you need a Tax Compliance Certificate.
- Once done, select the ‘Submit’ button.
You will then receive an email from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), that will detail your request.
Please wait for at least five (5) working days to receive your Tax Compliance Certificate which will arrive if there are absolutely no issues with your tax obligations.
If there are no issues with your tax obligations, an email containing your Tax Compliance Certificate, will be sent to you.
You can then proceed to download the image of your Tax Compliance Certificate and print it.
