    Earthquake Shakes Kenya

    Earlier in the week (the night of the 12th of August 2020 to be precise), individuals living in parts of the Kenyan cities of Mombasa and Nairobi reported experiencing a number of earth tremors. These tremors were said to have started from around 8:15pm.

    A number of similar tremors were also said to have been experienced in sections of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania at about the same time.

    These tremors according to American Earthquakes, are said to have had a magnitude of 4.9.

    One tremor was registered at about 60 kilometers east of Lodwar; the largest town in north-western Kenya, and had a depth of 10 kilometers.

    It was reported by Volcano Discovery that a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 occurred in Tanzania and was also felt in parts of Nyeri and Mombasa.

    Residents living around Lake Baringo have also been reporting various cases of earth tremors every night, for two (2) weeks now.
