Browns East Africa Plantations PLC and Browns Plantations Kenya Limited operate as one under the unified umbrella of Browns Plantations, a legacy tea enterprise operating in Kenya’s prime agricultural regions of Kericho, Bomet, and Limuru. With a shared heritage dating back to 1925, we are one of the largest producers and exporters of premium Kenyan tea and sustainable timber products. Collectively, we manage over 15% of Kenya’s total tea production, operate 12 FSSC22000-certified tea factories, and steward over 20 Rainforest Alliance-certified tea estates, including indigenous forest and commercial forestry zones.
As part of the wider Browns Plantations family, supported by Browns & Company PLC, with a trading legacy dating to 1875, and the LOLC Group, we bring together innovation, operational excellence, community empowerment, and environmental stewardship to create lasting value for our employees, customers, local communities, and the planet. We are especially proud to champion inclusive growth, with 15% of Browns Plantations Kenya owned by the local community through the Kipsigis Highlands Multipurpose Cooperative Society, an industry-leading model of shared prosperity.
