Estonian transportation network company Bolt (formerly known as Taxify), has announced the appointment of Olaoluwa Akinnusi as the new Country Manager for Bolt Kenya.
Olaoluwa Akinnusi will be in charge of overseeing the operations and expanding Bolt’s services across Kenya.
The General Manager for Bolt Africa, Karl Aru, on speaking on Mr. Akinnusi’s appointment said; “We are very excited to welcome Ola to our team at Bolt. Not only will he bring a tighter focus on customer relationship quality to our sales team, but also be a great role model for our employees, driver partners and riders who come into contact with him,”.
Before joining the Bolt team, Olaoluwa Akinnusi was one of the founding employees at Jumia, having served as the Global Head of Operations & Logistics, for the last three years, where he oversaw the supply chain management, operations strategy development, implementation and growth across the 7 African countries within his wings.
Speaking on his new appointment, Mr. Olaoluwa Akinnusi said: “I am very excited to join the Bolt team. Mr. Akinnusi who is a business analysis professional with seven years of managerial experience, has also worked as a consultant with a Financial Advisory firm out of Sub-Saharan Africa, with his core focus being Corporate and Structured Finance.
He co-facilitated two debt financing projects, with a cumulative financial value of $1.2 million (128.5 million Kenyan Shillings), as well as supported in the handling of 10 debt restructuring mandates ranging between $500,000 (50.6 million Kenyan Shillings) and $25 million (2.53 billion Kenyan Shillings).
He is a holder of a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics and is also pursuing a Master’s degree in Economics.
Bolt which changed its name from Taxify in March 2019, was founded by Markus Villig and was launched in 2013 and right now, has has 25 million customers in over 30 countries.
It currently has operations in Europe and Africa and its investors include Daimler, Didi Chuxing, Korelya Capital and TransferWise co-founder Taavet Hinrikus.
It began operations in Kenya in the beginning of 2017 and operates in Nairobi and Mombasa.
