iUsers, Here Is What Apple Has in Store For You (According to Apple Analyst Kuo Ming-Chi)
As with every other year, Apple will be making a rather large number of additions to its product lines this 2019, featuring a sizeable number of major upgrades.
According to TF International Securities’ forecasts for Apple releases this year, virtually all aspects of Apple’s product line will receive changes including the iPads and iPhones, Mac Pro and MacBook Pro, not forgetting accessories such as Airpods and the very much taled about AirPower.
Here are some of the additions that will be coming. Most likely.
Airpod 2
Expected to be released in the first half of 2019, the second generation of Airpods while still similar to the first generation versions, will be shipping in the two variants; white and black (rumoured to be in matte). They are also expected to have extra grip in the ear.
iPad Mini 5
While pictured above is the iPad mini 4 (released on the 9th of September 2015), the iPad Mini 5 is expected to have an early 2019 launch as well. The iPad Mini 5 is rumoured to look like predecessor, plus a headphone jack (thank God!), a 7.9 inch display, and Touch ID as opposed to Face ID.
It is also rumoured to come with the Apple Pencil. Samsung are you there?
iPhone 2019
Three iPhones are expected to be released in 2019 by Apple, just like the similar pattern adopted in 2018 with the release of the XS, XS Max, XR iPhones. Two of the 2019 models will have OLED displays, while the third will be a more affordable iPhone XR-like LCD display. The latter could very well be the last generation to use the LCD display before Apple switches to OLED displays entirely from 2020. Although that shift could happen this year.
A triple Camera setup is also expected on the rear and could also have the ability to produce depth maps similar to TrueDepth in front facing cameras of the current iPhone models.
The front TrueDepth cameras in the 2019 iPhones would be getting an upgrade as well, making them capable of taking 10 megapixel images.
The 2019 iPhones, will also have bilateral wireless charging, which will essentially allow them to charge other devices that are capable of wireless charge.
Other new upgrades, include larger batteries, frosted glass casing at the back of the 2019 iPhones and support for ultra-wide band (UWB) which will help with indoor positioning and navigation for GPS.
Whether or not the iPhones will switch to USB-C like the iPad Pro or stick with the Lightning port, is not clear yet.
