If you are a frequent user of Netflix, then you know that the streaming service’s preview auto playing feature is one if it’s most annoying features. I mean one minute you are trying to decide what to watch from the platform’s array of diverse options and then the next second, you are being bombarded with sounds from a preview that you did not even choose.
Well if that scenario above brought back somewhat ‘unpleasant’ memories, then this article is for You. That is because Netflix now officially (from the 6th of February 2020) allows its users to disable the auto play preview feature, giving you the freedom to browse the streaming service’s platform in blissful silence.
How To Disable The Auto Play Preview Feature On Netflix
To disable the auto play preview feature on Netflix, simply:
- Go to the official website for Netflix from your web browser. This is because the option to remove the auto play review feature is only available when you use a web browser. The change will however apply to all your devices so no need to worry. You can do so by visiting this link: https://www.netflix.com/ke-en/Login?nextpage=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.netflix.com%2Fbrowse
- Once done, sign in to your Netflix account.
- Next, navigate to the profile icon which you will find at the top right corner of the page.
- Once there, click on the ‘Account’ section.
- After that, look for the name of your profile under the ‘My Profile’.
- Select the ‘Playback Settings’ option.
- Once done, unselect the ‘Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices’ option.
- Next, click the ‘Save’ button to save your changes.
And that is it! You are good to go.
How To Disable The Auto Play Next Episode Feature On Netflix
If you would like to also disable the auto play next episode feature on Netflix as well, simply:
- Disable the ‘Autoplay next episode in a series on all devices’ option.
- Next, click the ‘Save’ button to save your changes.
Once done, Netflix will no longer automatically begin playing the next episode in your next binge watching session.
Please bear in mind that the Playback settings are specific to each profile. What this means is that if you have multiple profiles that cater to different people on your account, you will have to repeat the process for each individual process in order to disable the auto play preview feature as well as the auto play next episode feature for everyone.
