Renowned Silicon Valley incubator; Founder Institute, is now in Kenya. It launch this new branch with the aim of opening up its vast array of mentors to startups within Kenya. It has also begun accepting applications from startups who are looking to be a part of the Founder Institute’s Nairobi Accelerator.

Every accepted applicant will go through a number of personality and aptitude tests aimed at assessing the applicants and their ideas, while also identifying high potential applicants.
Those who pass, will now benefit from secure funding, the setup of effective teams, product development and traction generation.
The Founder Institute has successfully raised over 950 million dollars in funding and has worked closely with over 4300 startups, since its inception.
It currently has a portfolio with an estimate of 20 billion dollars and a strong presence in over 200 cities. The startups who have gone through Founder Institute’s funding programme include, TotalCTRL, Kindara and Udemy.
Founder Institute has also worked with seed companies like Y combinator.
Although interested parties can begin applying for early admission by the 27th of September 2020, the official deadline for the Nairobi Virtual 2020 Program applications, is the 1st of January 2021.
Entrepreneurs looking to join in can however be a part of a number of online events set up by the Founder Institute. These online events, will be looking to teach entrepreneurs how to get funding or financing, exactly how startup funding works, in addition to teaching lessons on how to secure equity, and what exactly investors look out for before investing.
