Barely hours after Cristiano Ronaldo who is arguably one of the most recognizable names on the face of the Earth removed bottles of Coca-Cola from his table during a press conference, the stock prices for one of the largest beverage companies in the world dropped by an astonishing 1.6 percent.
The Portuguese football superstar had on Tuesday the 15th of June 2021 made an appearance at the press conference ahead of the highly anticipated Portugal versus Hungary Euro 2020 match. On getting there, he saw two bottles of Coca-Cola that were placed on the desk in front of him. Such bottles are usually placed for endorsement purposes for Euro 2020.
Cristiano Ronaldo proceeded to move the Coca-Cola bottles away and waved a bottle of water at which point he said “agua” with a face devoid of any emotion. Agua is the Portuguese word for Water.
The entire gesture has been interpreted to mean: do not consume carbonated beverages, take water instead.
While that decision by Cristiano might be seen as a small thing by some, it ended up costing Coca-Cola 4 billion United States Dollars (431.2 billion Kenyan Shillings). This is because its stock prices went down from 242 billion United States Dollars (26.08 trillion Kenyan Shillings) to 238 United States Dollars (25.65 trillion Kenyan Shillings).

According to The Sun, the 36 year old football superstar Cristiano avoids sugary foods and adheres to a strict diet. During his time at Spanish club Real Madrid, the club doctor made it known that the football player had the body of a player who is ten (10) years younger and would be able to football at the top level well into his 40s.
Portugal which is the defending champion of the Euro competition defeated Hungary in their Group F opener in the ongoing Euro 2020 under the leadership of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The superstar scored two of the three goals that helped his team seal the match in Budapest on Tuesday night. He scored in the 87th minute via a penalty strike. The goal resulted in him setting the all time record for the most career goals at the competition. He followed up with a second goal which brought the total tally to 3 goals to nil.
After the game Cristiano Ronaldo added that, “It was a difficult game, against an opponent who defended very well, but we scored three goals, and I am very grateful to the team for helping me to score two goals.”
Forces revealed that Cristiano has a commercial portfolio that is worth 45 million United States Dollars (4.85 billion Kenyan Shillings) every year.
He has endorsed MTG, DAZN, Unilever, Altice, Nike, and Herbalife.
