China Southern Airlines has begun two time weekly flights between Nairobi and Changsha, the capital city of central China’s Hunan Province.
The flights are a move towards boosting business and tourism between the two countries, China and Kenya.
The new flights are are also seen as a move in anticipation of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo which is expected to be held in Changsha between 27th June 2019 and the 29th of June 2019.
The China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo is expected to bring together businesspeople from more than 53African countries and global organizations.
The airline (China Southern Airlines) already currently operates two weekly flights linking travelers between Nairobi and Guangzhou City, the capital of south China’s Guangdong Province.
The non-stop flights to Changsha will be twice per week Wednesdays and Sundays to substitute the flights between Nairobi and Guangzhou which are on Monday and Friday.
A statement issued by the airline stated that, “In the first month of the route launch, the cheapest ticket from Nairobi to Changsha we will go for around Sh 51,485 while a return air ticket between the two destinations will go at Sh69, 616,”.
