Popular low cost carrier; has begun carrying out direct flights to from Mombasa to Kisumu and Eldoret.
The very first flight took off on Friday the 9th of October 2020, with a starting cost of 8,900 Kenyan Shillings for a one way ticket.
The Acting Managing Director of Jambojet; Karanja Ndegwa while speaking during the official launch at the Kisumu International Airport, revealed that the newly introduced direct flights between Mombasa, Kisumu and Eldoret, will play very vital roles in connecting holiday goers and business individuals who prefer to travel between those three destinations conveniently and easily.
The Acting Manager also made it known that while direct flights out of Mombasa will have a capacity of 73 passengers, direct flights out of the Eldoret and Kisumu destinations, will operate at full capacity.
The First Lady of Kisumu County; Mrs Dorothy Nyong’o said, “The direct flights will be an integral part of boosting the economy and tourism sector in our county.”
The regional low cost carrier will carry out the direct flights every Friday and Sunday. The flights from Mombasa to Kisumu and Eldoret will leave Mombasa at exactly 1:15 to arrive at their destinations at 3:55pm.
The flight from Kisumu will leave at 4:15pm to arrive at Mombasa by 6:05pm.
Jambojet resumed operations on the 15th of July 2020 after ensuring that a wide array of health and safety measures were put in place. As at the time of putting this article together the airline operates flights to Ukunda, Kisumu, Malindi, Eldoret and Mombasa from its base in Nairobi.
Jambojet has also joined forces with various other establishments in the travel sector and subsequently introduced its ongoing campaign called ‘Now Travel Ready.’
The campaign aims at encouraging consumers to engage in domestic travel especially as Kenya continues its efforts at kickstarting the recovery process from the coronavirus pandemic’s effects on the economy.
