El Salvador is hosting a meeting about the future of finance. Central Banks and Ministries of Finance, among other top government officials, will be there.
President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador says that 32 Central Banks will be the main speakers at the event. They will talk about how Bitcoin will be used in his country and other details.
Here’s the message that was sent out on Twitter:
Tomorrow, 32 central banks and 12 financial authorities (44 countries) will meet in El Salvador to discuss financial inclusion, digital economy, banking the unbanked, the #Bitcoin rollout and its benefits in our country.

Most of the countries at the conference are from Africa, and Mr. Bukele’s tweets show that the following Central Banks are there to represent their countries:

- Egypt
- Eswatini
- Rwanda
- Gambia
- Ghana
- Guinea
- Lesotho
- Liberia
- Madagascar
- Malawi
- Mauritanie
- Morocco
- Namibia
- Nigeria
- Sao Tome and PrincipeÂ
- Sierra Leone
- Senegal
- Sudan
- Uganda
- Zambia
Other countries, like Zambia, are also represented by the Ministry of Finance. In Zambia, two top government officials will be at the meeting in El Salvador. Both Eswatini and Senegal are the same in this way.
For Kenya, representatives from Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) Kenya will be there.
El Salvador made Bitcoin legal tender on September 7, 2021, making it the first country in the world to do so. This means that Bitcoin can be used to buy and sell goods and services.
In late April 2022, the Central African Republic became the second country in the world to accept bitcoin.
